Announcement – St. Clair College Go Live

St. Clair College (Ontario, Canada) manages an extensive Experiential and Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) program that touches on a broad range of certificates, diplomas, and degrees. St. Clair’s WIL activities include cooperative education, internships, and field and clinical placements; co-curricular programs include job shadowing and mentorship opportunities, to name a few.

St. Clair selected InPlace in January 2024 and is deploying at an enterprise level, encompassing all career services functions and all work-integrated learning programs across nine academic schools, which serve over 14,000 students annually.

We are pleased to share that InPlace completed phase one of the St. Clair College roll-out in September 2024. The first phase included programs within the following:

  • School of Community Studies
  • School of Information Technology
  • School of Engineering Technologies
  • School of Skilled Trades

St. Clair is also utilizing the InPlace Software Opportunities feature for a new, college-wide job board that will target and alert students and alumni based on criteria and eligibility. The job board will launch in November 2024, while phases two and three will launch in January 2025 and September 2025 and include the Schools of Media, Art, and Design, Business, Health Sciences, and Nursing.

St. Clair College highly values and recognizes the positive impact of experiential learning. This approach combines academic learning with practical skill application, enhancing students’ career readiness.

The InPlace implementation includes faculty and program officers across St. Clair College’s academic departments, as well as centralized support from the department of Experiential Learning and Career Services. The dual implementation provides enterprise benefits such as high-level  reporting, mechanisms for tracking partnership agreements, process consistency, and an enhanced student and staff experience. InPlace is pleased to work with St. Clair on this deployment and applauds their team’s flexibility through this large-scale workflow creation.

“Our partnership with InPlace marks a transformative step in strengthening St. Clair College’s commitment to experiential and work-integrated learning,” said Pat Papadeas, Director of Academic Operations, St. Clair College. “The new integrated platform streamlines processes and provides robust, centralized support for our students, faculty, and industry partners. We’re excited to expand these benefits with the launch of the job board and further rollouts in the coming year, enhancing access to practical experiences that prepare our students for career success.”

What’s Next
