About InPlace

Guthrie is the founder and CEO of InPlace Software, a global enterprise SaaS business headquartered in Australia with operations across the UK, US, Canada, EU, Singapore, and the UAE. He led the QuantumIT business as a successful consulting firm focused on fixed-price application development for 15 years before transitioning it into a product company developing and owning cloud-based software platforms.

The company’s flagship product, InPlace, is now one of the world’s leading platforms for managing clinical placements, internships, and work-integrated learning in higher education and healthcare. Its companion products include InPlace Network, which supports health and education partnerships to manage incoming student work placements and graduate programs; and InPlace Corrections, a rehabilitation and education management platform used across all 17 prisons in Victoria.

Guthrie also founded and funded four other tech ventures, including Quantum Labs (LiDAR/RADAR-based location analytics), Bankroll Studios (Hurtworld), and VastView Studios (VR marketing for construction). He holds a BA from La Trobe University.

Patrick is a seasoned tech professional with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and an impressive three decades of experience. He embarked on his journey with QuantumIT in 2000 as an application developer, quickly establishing himself as a technical powerhouse, especially in database design and tuning.

His innovative work on large-scale Data Warehousing and Data Migration projects set the stage for his expertise. Over the years, Pat has masterfully managed and led many development projects, both within the company and for external clients. His exceptional analytical and communication skills ensure that software designs hit the mark every time.

In 2021, Pat stepped into the role of Development Manager, where he leverages his deep understanding of the software development lifecycle to drive innovation and excellence.

Aaron White is a dynamic IT professional and product executive with a strong background in business analysis, product management, and application deployment. Since joining QuantumIT in 2009, Aaron has excelled in roles such as Business Analyst, Implementation Consultant, Presales & Marketing Lead, and currently, InPlace Product Executive.

Aaron has been instrumental in driving development, launching innovative products, and expanding the InPlace application suite into new international markets. Now based in the USA, Aaron relocated from Australia in 2018 to lead North American growth.

Dr. Armen Kocharyan, a seasoned IT leader with deep technical expertise, delivers high-impact business solutions. At QuantumIT, he collaborates with partners to drive visionary technology integration and IT strategies, boosting customer service and business results.

As Vice President, Executive Director, and CTO at Infosys Technologies, Armen shaped technology strategy, spearheading AI/ML and multi-cloud initiatives while aligning IT with business objectives alongside senior management.

With a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, he has authored over 50 journal articles and a book. He served on the Industry Advisory Board at Monash University’s School of Mathematical Sciences and is now an Adjunct Research Fellow in its School of Physics and Astronomy. Armen champions innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Lachlan brings over eleven years of B2B product leadership to his role at InPlace, building and scaling SaaS platforms across global markets. He joined us after most recently leading product at Fohlio (NYC) and Crosschq / TalentWall (SF) in the USA, where he focused on transforming mid-market businesses into enterprise-grade platforms and driving measurable growth.

At InPlace, Lachlan guides product strategy and delivery for the world’s leading Work Integrated Learning platform used by universities and employers worldwide. His approach centres on data-driven decisions, lean experimentation and product-led growth — ensuring every feature connects directly to student success, partner value and institutional efficiency.

Ed Williams is the Chief Financial Officer at QuantumIT, where he leads the Finance and HR functions. He brings over 20 years of extensive experience in corporate finance and business operations, having worked with large multinational corporations and privately-backed enterprises across Europe and Australia.

Specialising in the software and technology sector, Ed has successfully overseen mergers and acquisitions and partnered with senior executives at some of the industry’s leading companies. Qualified as an accountant in both the UK and Australia, he combines technical expertise with a positive, energetic approach and a strong finance focus.

Nicky is a highly skilled professional with a strong background in project management and team leadership. With a passion for technology and innovation, Nicky specializes in overseeing the planning, implementation, and coordination of software programs to ensure they align with business goals and industry standards.

With over 25 years of experience in the software industry, Nicky has successfully managed multiple projects from inception to deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and deliver high-quality software solutions. Her expertise includes software lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and stakeholder communication.

Having a bachelor’s in computer science along with certifications in ISTQB and Scrum Master, Nicky stays up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends. She is committed to continuous learning and professional development to drive the success of software initiatives.

Kevin has been the Director EMEA for Quantum since April 2013, responsible for the strategic direction, vision and growth and performance of the EMEA Region. A highly experienced Executive of 20 years experience, within: EdTech for Higher Education; The NHS and the Corporate Sectors. He leads the growth of the region’s client-base, partners and the development of the EMEA based team.

It was while in his previous role, as Director UK, Ireland & Nordics for Ellucian LLC, that Kevin searched the global market, to enable the Ellucian mission of empowering student success. Specifically within Placement Management, improving Student Employability, Student Wellbeing Support and came across Quantum and InPlace. The rest is history!

Prior to Ellucian, Executive roles held included: Regional Sales Director UK, Blackboard Collaborate, Regional Director UK, Wimba Inc (when purchased by Blackboard) and VP Sales EMEA, The Learning Edge. When not working Kevin goes on extreme hikes around the world.

James Foxcroft is a seasoned support and operations leader with two decades of experience spanning hardware, software, networking, and communications. Before joining QuantumIT in 2020, he held technical roles supporting WAN and LAN environments for UK government departments, where he developed a deep grounding in resilient, large-scale infrastructure.
 
Today, James leads global support and product deployment at QuantumIT, with end-to-end responsibility for the InPlace Service Desk and its supporting infrastructure across Australia, the UK and Ireland, and the US and Canada. He has designed and built much of the operational platform his teams now rely on, from internal tooling and reporting through to the support technology that connects our regions. Operationally minded by instinct, James is driven by the challenge of making complex, multi-region service operations run predictably and at scale.

Tammy Fernandez joined InPlace Software eight years ago to introduce it to the U.S. market. With over two decades of experience in higher education, Tammy has demonstrated expertise in accreditation standards, curriculum framework, and student success. She holds an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix and served as a faculty member for over 12 years.

Tammy is known for her innovative problem-solving approach and ability to drive results in fast-paced environments. Outside of her professional endeavors, Tammy enjoys mentoring aspiring women who contribute to her local community. James is an experienced Senior Product Leader with a strong track record of delivering innovative software solutions that simplify complexity and delight users. Since joining the QuantumIT team in 2011, he has played a key role in shaping products that meet evolving customer needs.

Drawing on his background in financial services and EdTech, James focuses on building tools that help clients work smarter and faster.

Felix is an experienced software manager who leads global development and maintenance of the InPlace Network software across all regions and manages the Australian deployment team. He joined QuantumIT in 2018 after accumulating IT experience across numerous industries and continents.

While he wears many hats in his role, his passion is creating an empowered team that produces outstanding software. Outside of his professional endeavours, Felix is an avid cyclist and a budding triathlete. 

Phalguni’s approach to product management embodies an architect’s meticulous planning and a storyteller’s heartfelt passion. The foundation of building great products lies in a profound understanding of the domain long before we delve into technical solutions. Over her ten years in product leadership, she’s learned that asking ‘why?’ before ‘how?’ is the key to unlocking more meaningful innovations.

When confronting complex challenges, Phalguni envisions the desired outcomes and works backward, mapping the journey to that end goal. This approach has helped her deliver products that meet market needs and create genuine connections with users across both B2B and B2C spaces. What ignites her passion is nurturing an environment where diverse ideas flourish. David Green heads up operations for InPlace and InPlace Network Customer Success and Support in the APAC region. With over 20 years IT industry experience across Account Management, Project Management, Consulting, Business Analysis and Service Desk Operations, and an early career background in sales, David brings a positive attitude and enthusiastic energy to ensure that 70+ customers across 5 time-zones can get the best out of InPlace and InPlace Network.

Working closely with the QIT BA team, and meeting regularly with customer stakeholders at varying levels, David advocates for customer experience and representation within the InPlace team, and acts as a customer contact for contract renewals, new customer projects, new InPlace features, escalated issues and more!

Lillian is an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Advisor/Business Partner with a demonstrated history of working in the global IT industry. Multi-skilled in HR consulting, strategic planning, manager and employee engagement, succession planning, risk and compliance, and recruitment at all levels;

Lillian has a Masters in Business (Human Resource Management) qualification and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
