Collaboration in Action: 2025 InPlace UK & Ireland User Group Highlights

Discover key insights, community highlights, and takeaways from the 2025 UK and Ireland InPlace User Group Conference.

A massive thank you to all who joined us for this year’s UK + Ireland InPlace User Group Conference!

From everyone at QuantumIT, we’re thrilled to have hosted such a dynamic and insightful gathering of our InPlace community. With over 100 delegates representing 80 higher education institutions from across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, the 2025 User Group Conference was a true reflection of the growing strength and collaboration within our network.

This year’s event was packed with energy, expertise, and a shared commitment to enhancing student placement management in higher education. Across 20+ unique sessions, we explored new InPlace functionality, configuration possibilities, and innovative ways of working that go beyond traditional processes. Our focus wasn’t just on features — but on how institutions can drive real impact and measurable benefits using InPlace.

A Platform Built for Collaboration

One of the greatest strengths of InPlace is its user community. With over 84 higher education institutions (HEIs) across the UK and Ireland and a growing number of NHS Trusts and integrated care boards (ICBs) adopting the InPlace Network platform, our user base brings a wealth of experience and insight.

Throughout the conference, it was great to see the attendees’ willingness to share their learnings, ask thoughtful questions, and collaborate across institutions. Whether it was a detailed discussion in a breakout session or an impromptu chat over coffee, these conversations are what make the User Group so valuable.

“Having returned from our first conference, and as a new user just starting out, I found it most useful. The sessions were insightful and not overly complex or technical, which made them accessible even for staff unfamiliar with InPlace and its capabilities,” shared Ken Chow, Head of Student Administration Service, University of Hertfordshire.

Beyond the Sessions: A Bit of Fun

Of course, no InPlace conference would be complete without some time to relax and connect outside the conference room. This year’s BBQ, lively pub quiz, and even a surprise performance by the close-up magician brought plenty of smiles and laughter. These moments also provided an opportunity to strengthen connections, celebrate our shared accomplishments, and enjoy each other’s company outside the breakout sessions.

Looking Ahead

Initial feedback has been incredibly positive — thank you for your comments and suggestions. As we reflect on the UK + Ireland InPlace User Group Conference, we’re already thinking about how to make the next one even better. Your input is key to that process, so please continue to share your thoughts with us.

As you return to your institutions, we hope the conversations and ideas sparked at the event continue to flourish. Whether you’re asking, “What’s next?” or “What else can InPlace do for us?” we’re here to help you explore new possibilities and support you on your journey.

Until next time — thank you again for being a part of this vibrant, collaborative, and forward-thinking community.
