Two Days of Learning, Networking, and Innovation

Hosted at Victoria University’s impressive City Tower venue, the conference delivered on its promise to provide the latest feature updates, strategies, and best practices to enhance how institutions manage Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and placement programs.

Day 1: Exploring Innovations in Placement Management

The conference kicked off with inspiring keynote presentations, including insights from QuantumIT CEO Guthrie White and Victoria University’s Prof. John Germov. Attendees gained exclusive access to the InPlace Development Roadmap, learning about recent improvements and exciting features on the horizon.

A standout moment was Adelaide University’s presentation on executing cutting-edge WIL strategies through InPlace, demonstrating real-world success in placement management innovation.

The afternoon featured discipline-specific breakout sessions covering 11 areas, from Nursing and Allied Health to Engineering, Creative Industries, and beyond, allowing users to dive deep into sector-specific challenges and solutions with their peers.

Our “Champions & Challenges” session brought the community together as customers shared 5-minute presentations on success stories, novel use cases, and lessons learned, fostering collaborative problem-solving across institutions.

The day concluded with feature demonstrations showcasing powerful tools like InSight Progressive Survey, InPlace Analytics, and CPP/Allowance functionality, followed by an unforgettable gala dinner at the stunning St Andrews Conservatory in Fitzroy.

Day 2: Deep Diving into Future Trends and Best Practices

Day two focused on the future of placement management and collaborative learning. Round table discussions brought users together to explore critical topics, including:

  • AI tools in Placement & WIL: How artificial intelligence is transforming placement activities and broader WIL programs
  • Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP): Sharing experiences and best practices for implementation and administration
  • Managing Placement Providers: Strategies for maintaining strong agency relationships and leveraging professional registers
  • Executive & Government Reporting: Meeting the demands of senior management, TEQSA, and government regulators
  • Systems Integration: Connecting InPlace with institutional systems for seamless data flow
  • Expanding InPlace Adoption: Breaking barriers and engaging new stakeholders across institutions

Parallel discussion groups provided targeted support for both InPlace Network members and new users, while advanced feature demonstrations highlighted Opportunity Skill Matching, Cost Management tools, InPlace Logbook capabilities, and Placement Readiness features.

The WIL Config Project update gave attendees a glimpse into the future direction of the platform, reinforcing QuantumIT’s commitment to continuous innovation.

Bec Edmunds, representative from Box Hill Institute highlighted the collaborative spirit: “Collaborating on different ideas, understanding the gaps, and how we can together work to better develop our system has been fantastic.”
