InPlace User Group National Conference – building on success

Australian Catholic University hosted the 7th InPlace User Group National Conference on 12-13 July, enabling university representatives to ask questions, share experiences within specific disciplines and view recently-released new features of InPlace.

Over 100 delegates attended the conference representing about half of Australia’s universities.

The conference kicked off with brief presentations from participating members on their experiences and the status of their WIL program rollouts.

InPlace presented the new log book module that offers a platform for the flexible and convenient recording of student placement activity with the potential to make life easier for students, supervisors and university staff alike.

Like many of InPlace’s features, the log book was developed in conjunction with universities – in this case with University of Southern Queensland and James Cook University.

InPlace team members then walked through the roadmap of new features to be released in coming months.

These include an analytics dashboard which provides a range of sophisticated features: correlating academic results with placement performance; incorporating economic and growth statistics to parallel with course and enrolment information for employability; and analysing workplace partners engagement among others.

Various sessions throughout the conference were hosted by Queensland University of Technology, Australian Catholic University, Monash University and La Trobe University.

Following the conference, most delegates headed to dinner at the spectacular Medley Hall venue in Drummond St Carlton and were entertained by a talk from the director of QuantumIT’s e-learning division.

A big thank you goes out to the team at Australian Catholic University for hosting a fantastic event, which was again, very collaborative and productive. The community aspect around the product was noted by numerous attendees as very welcoming and key in maximising value in the software.
