Higher education executives in Brisbane met at the Customs House for a power breakfast hosted by Microsoft and InPlace Software (QuantumIT) yesterday morning, the event was keynoted with an enthralling presentation by Dr. Judith Smith from Queensland University of Technology outlining just what it takes to provide 90% (30,000 placements) of its graduates with a work integrated learning experience by 2019.
The many difficulties, intricacies and benefits were laid bare in what is a lofty and ambitious goal, which would put Australia’s QUT in rare air with every student expected to undertake a WIL experience by 2020.
The event is the first in the Microsoft Higher Education showcase series for Work Integrated Learning.
