InPlace a major success for Swinburne

Officials at Swinburne University of Technology have praised the success of their partnership with InPlace.

Since May last year, students at the university in Melbourne have benefitted from being able to use the world’s smartest integrated learning placement solution.

Speaking about the partnership, Project Manager, Swinburne ITS, Andrew Willshire said, “Around Swinburne, InPlace is regarded as one of our big successes of 2015. The value is seen as very high, especially given the relatively modest costs incurred. The InPlace team worked very well with us at all times, displayed great professionalism and also were just really good people to work with!”

The web-based solution connects students with the workplace through easy-to-use and flexible management software, designed for staff efficiency and to improve the student experience.

Swinburne has used the software across a range of areas, encompassing its Industry Based Learning and Internship programs, which span university and TAFE courses in the Departments of Health, Science, Education (early learning, primary and secondary) and Social Sciences.

Further rollout is now underway for engineering and IT program.

Guthrie White, CEO of InPlace developer QuantumIT, said, “Swinburne is an impressive University that prides itself on producing career-ready graduates. We’re very excited to be working with them and are delighted they have given us such a glowing review.

“Students at Swinburne are now benefitting from more tailored work placements, which offer an enhanced experience, produce better outcomes, and ensure they are more career-ready. The University itself is benefitting from the optimisation of resources and the simplification of the work placement process InPlace offers. These benefits help save both time and money,” said Mr White.

Speaking about the partnership last year, Andrew C. Smith, Vice-President (Engagement) of Swinburne University of Technology, said, “At Swinburne we are focused on building the employability skills of our graduates and we know that direct industry experience provides them with these skills. Achieving growth in the opportunities we offer our students requires an enterprise wide solution that fosters collaboration and supports the administration of placement activity.”
