Boston College’s School of Nursing faced challenges managing clinical placements for its graduate programs. The process relied on fragmented tools like Google Sheets and paper forms, which were inefficient and error-prone. Rising placement volumes and stringent accreditation requirements underscored the need for a centralized solution.

Prior to switching to InPlace Software, CU Denver Nursing was using a restrictive and outdated system that lacked essential features needed as their programs grew. Things such as reporting customization or managing different placement processes weren’t possible. These limitations created data loss risks, administrative bottlenecks, and hindered the college’s ability to handle increasing student numbers.

Before partnering with placement management software InPlace, Boston College relied on a spreadsheet-based system to manage over 700 annual placements across its nursing, social work, and teacher education programs. This decentralized approach led to data inconsistencies, such as spelling variations and minor errors that created significant data challenges.

Northern Kentucky University’s (NKU) social work program began looking for a solution to manage its placement process. Like many social work programs, it used a homemade system combining paper and digital-based forms. This system was inefficient for staff, students, and supervisors. It made tracking and reporting accreditation and student data difficult and time-consuming.
