InPlace software wins Melbourne company major UK deal

At the opening of QuantumIT’s new headquarters in Melbourne Gordon Rich-Phillips, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Technology in the Victorian Government announced that QuantumIT had won a global tender for the supply of its InPlace software to a consortium of universities in the UK.

Victorian specialist IT consultancy and development business Quantum IT has signed a major deal with six UK universities to supply technology to manage their health faculty work placement program.

Speaking at the opening of a new headquarters for Quantum IT, Technology Minister Gordon Rich-Phillips said the company was well-deserving of its international success.

“Quantum IT is a great example of a successful Victorian SME taking on world markets,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.

“After sealing a major deal with a consortium of UK universities, Quantum IT’s InPlace work placement management system will soon manage health faculty placements for these Yorkshire universities.

“After 12 months reviewing systems around the globe, the Yorkshire universities’ project team chose Quantum IT’s solution – developed right here in Victoria.

“Quantum IT launched InPlace just last year and it has already been successfully deployed at three Australian universities, including La Trobe University, thanks to its functionality and automated processes,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.

Mr Rich-Phillips congratulated the company and said the UK deal was a significant milestone for Quantum and would bring valuable export dollars and additional jobs for the state.

“Quantum IT has set itself up for growth in the last four years, expanding from 15 to 75 full time staff,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.

“In addition, during the last six months Quantum has expanded into Sydney and London, while keeping its headquarters and home here in Melbourne where an additional 30 jobs will be created.”

Guthrie White, Managing Director of Quantum IT, said his company expected to rapidly expand the user base for InPlace throughout Australia and overseas in the next 12 months.

“With almost 300 universities and higher education institutes in the UK alone, we have a great opportunity there. Our technology is probably a year or two ahead of the market at this stage, and we are investing heavily to increase the gap between InPlace and the competition,” Mr White said.

“Our expanded Melbourne office will help us improve the quality of the services we provide for existing and potential clients, and increase our business outreach to the UK.”

Quantum IT has been a supplier of IT services to industry and government for 18 years, specialising in data warehousing and business intelligence, data migrations and application development to customers including Sensis, National Australia Bank, Telstra, Victorian Government and Tenix Solutions.
